I think im goin to base my interactive enviroment on the book by Dan Brown, Digital Fortress. I would like to use the idea of code breaking ect into my mircosite. Any comments or suggests on my intial idea would bu grateful
Thanxs
Code breaking sounds great but it depends how involved you are going to get with it. Take the example of the Enigma piece that one of the third years produced a couple of years back - it's really professionally produced and looks mint and everything but there's just too much to do and I got bored very quickly.
People aren't going to spend too long on stuff that doesn't grab their attention within the first 30 seconds.
The Secret Garden works because it isn't too complicated and is just the right length.
Other than that it seems like a perfect novel for transition to a digital format. I haven't read it but the Wikipedia link makes it sound pretty interesting. Seems like it has some good cover art also which you might be able to develop.
Hope this has helped, if only a little bit.
Something for the Interactive website people. I found this really great interactive gallery at Tom Bevan's website. Don't know how relevant it is and if you'd be able to create something like this in four weeks, but it is a lot of fun!
The Last Mimzy - New film coming out with lovely interactive environment and great sound...
